Dear Families, Parents, Students, Staff and Friends:
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year and to the Class of 2023! At Blue Hills, you will embrace academic excellence and experience cutting-edge technical training while developing your character so you can succeed in college and careers. As your newly-appointed superintendent, I’m ecstatic about my new role. I look forward to learning and listening during this first year while serving our nine-town district. During my 26 years in public education - many of them at Blue Hills - I have been a student teacher, sub, academic teacher, vocational teacher, academic coordinator, and most recently, principal for the last five years. I’ve proudly served at the administrative level at Blue Hills for eleven years. I plan to carry out my new responsibilities with the same energy, intensity, and dedication to our mission that I share with all of you.
Our renovation project will transform the building into a superb 21st-century facility for learning. The areas that have been completed are terrific. The spaces still under construction will be equally impressive. I respectfully ask for your continued patience and understanding as the renovation process goes through its final phase.
Blue Hills students can choose from seventeen technical programs that can lead to dozens of rewarding careers with practically unlimited growth and potential. We also offer SkillsUSA, sports and extracurricular activities, paid internships and the opportunity to earn national industry certifications. Most importantly, our students learn how to be mature, confident leaders and productive citizens. Equipped with a robust education from Blue Hills, they gain a significant competitive advantage in their future profession. I encourage families to contact our teachers regarding their student’s progress. Please visit our website, www.bluehills.org, to stay current on everything that is happening here. We welcome your ideas, input and questions. I look forward to working collaboratively with our students, teachers, leadership team, staff, families, community and District School Committee as we build our future together. Thank you for everything you do to make Blue Hills the school of choice for our students.
Jill M. Rossetti, Superintendent-Director
